Windows will replace WinSCard.dll with the original during windows updates and our Driver will need to be reinstalled.

1. Prerequisites

  1. Check if the DLLs of the application you are using are in the execution directory. You can do this by finding any .DLL file in the application folder.

2. Install Hyper Driver in App local folder

  1. Download the driver at the top of this page.

  2. Replace the WinSCard.dll file with the one downloaded.

  3. Ensure you use the correct architecture 32bit or 64bit.

  4. Test the system. Did it work?

3. Change Permissions

You will need to change permissions on the default Windows WinSCard.dll in order to replace it with the Hyper Driver version. You must be logged in to Windows with admin rights and carry out the below steps for both:

  • C:\Windows\System32\WinSCard.dll

  • C:\Windows\SysWOW64\WinSCard.dll

Steps:

  1. Navigate to the directory in file explorer and find 'WinSCard.dll'

  2. Right click to show the context menu and select properties

  3. Click on the security tab then click ‘Advanced’

  4. Click on ‘Change’ (this is located next to ‘Owner’)

  5. In the window (under ‘Enter the object name to select’), type: “Administrators”, then click on ‘Check Names’. The computer will list the administrators for this PC. Choose and click on ‘OK'.
