Hyper Cards

Integration Options

A developer-focused overview of how to integrate Hyper Cards with your software.

Hyper Cards work with ALL company card hosting software both on Windows and Linux environments. There are 2 ways of working with our Hyper Card range of products:

1. Using our own Hyper Driver

This allows your software to talk to each card reader as if it were a standard individual USB card reader.

PROS
  1. No development is required.
  2. Compatible both with Windows and Linux systems.
CONS
  1. Replacing the system WinSCard.dll (Windows)/psclite (Linux) will prevent normal PC/SC USB readers from working.
  2. In Windows systems, the Hyper Driver might be replaced with the original WinSCard.dll  during a Windows Update and our driver will need to be reinstalled.
  3. Each Hyper Card device connected by one USB connection can only be used by one application at a time
  4. The operating system will see the Hyper Card device as a single USB device. Card slots can't be individually virtualized using USB virtualization.

Next Steps

  1. Purchase a Hyper Card device

  2. Package the Hyper Driver into your application by following this guide:

2. Integrating our own protocol

This allows you to talk to each card reader through a serial connection. The Hyper protocol is proprietary to us and we are happy to send you all the documentation required after you have signed an NDA.

PROS
  1. No driver manipulation is required in the system.
  2. Compatible both with Windows and Linux systems.
CONS
  1. Requires development time.
  2. Requires signing an NDA.

Next Steps

  1. Purchase a Hyper Card device to start integrating our devices with your software.

  2. Request an NDA from Lisle Design via business@lisledesign.com

  3. Get all the documentation and begin the integration process.
